Cases are continuing to go down, but the positivity rate is trending back to HIGH, where it was prior to the holidays. Hospitalizations from COVID-19 remained stable.

The first wave of flu cases has crested and is starting to fall. Based on historical data, Butler County almost always sees a second wave of flu cases a month or two after the first.

The flu vaccine, which preliminary findings suggest a good match for the type of flu circulating, is highly recommended. Increased ventilation in closed spaces and appropriate masking can help us fend off the potential second wave.
