Today and Overdose Awareness Day and last week (August 22 - August 28) there have been 9 suspected overdose deaths in Butler County, which is significantly greater than what is typically seen. When there are increases like this in the number of overdose deaths, that may mean there are drugs in the community with large amounts of fentanyl in it.
If you are using drugs or know someone who does use drugs remember to:
never use alone,
go slow and start with small amounts,
have Naloxone available,
be prepared to call 911 if necessary.
If you are in need of Naloxone, please contact the Butler County General Health District at (513) 863-1770 or visiting Harm Reduction Ohio to order online and have it mailed directly to your home.
Data obtained from the Butler County Coroner's Office and is provisional/subject to change.
