Weekly Butler County COVID-19 Epidemiology Report

The overall decline in cases in Butler County has stopped and cases are trending back upwards. This increase represents a 1.1% overall increase in cases. This appears to mirror the national trend of stabilizing cases at a high level as cold weathers and social factors encourage the high spread of respiratory illness. Butler County is continuing to monitor the indicators that will determine potential caseloads over the winter.
It’s important to note that though the number of deaths has risen, many of these deaths are still those who were unaccounted for during the fourth wave. The daily average of deaths has been declining since October 17 which is exactly one month after the peak of the fourth wave. Hospitalizations are, as expected, following the same pattern as cases.
