Fatal Drug Overdose Spike Investigation
Today is Overdose Awareness Day and last week (August 22nd through August 28th) there have been 9 suspected overdose deaths in Butler County, which is significantly greater than what is typically seen.
When there are increases like this in the number of overdose deaths, that may mean there are drugs in the community with large amounts of fentanyl in it.
If you are using drugs or know someone who does use drugs, remember to:
- never use alone,
- go slow and start with small amounts,
- have Naloxone available,
- be prepared to call 911 if necessary.
