Butler County Weekly COVID-19 Report
Butler County has passed into the high transmission category for the first time since February. The 7-day case rate is at 101.4 per 100K, and the positivity rate is above 10%. It is still estimated that the vast majority of cases are going unreported. As mentioned previously, transmission levels are not actionable indicators for the general public and most institutions, but they are for healthcare facilities.
The community level, which are the guidelines for the general public, remains at low. It has remained at low because the community indicator puts far more emphasis on hospitalizations and utilization of healthcare resources as a measurement of the true burden of COVID-19 on the community.
Currently, based on the reports that are coming in to public health, hospitalizations remain stable at a relatively low weekly rate. There are now 3 deaths recorded for April of 2022, and no deaths recorded for May at this point.
