Weekly Butler County COVID-19 and Flu Reports
This week produced yet another record breaking week, both in terms of absolute COVID-19 case numbers and positivity rate. The positivity rate of 38.3% represents the highest positivity rate seen in Butler County through the course of the pandemic. This is coupled with another record breaking week of 1.75% of the county testing positive in a single week. Since 01/01/2022, 1 out of every 29 residents in Butler County has tested positive for COVID-19.

Butler County saw three confirmed influenza-associated hospitalization for the week ending 01/15/2022. This is a total of 20 confirmed influenza-associated hospitalizations for 2021 thus far in Butler County.
It is important to keep in mind that influenza itself is not reportable; only influenza-related hospitalizations. Thus, surveillance on influenza and other respiratory illnesses is difficult to track on a local level. The best way to prevent influenza infection is to get vaccinated.
