Butler County Weekly COVID-19 Update
Even with the lag in reporting, cases grew by 19% in the week following holidays. This is expected since individuals who were likely contagious while at family gatherings spread it to others resulting in an increase in cases. We should continue to see this increase into next week as well.
The positivity rate remains very high and hospitalizations also increased indicating that even with these high case numbers they were still likely under-reported.
School age cases are increasing at a pace that is approximately 30% faster than the general population's growth rate since November 1.
